Work with Me

I am currently working off a waitlist. You can use my contact form to sign up for the waiting list, or find other gender doulas I recommend on my resource list.

All Gender Doula services start at a rate of $100/hr for trans individuals and $150/hr for families and allies. Below I will include some possible options, but I am more than happy to put together a bespoke package based on your individual needs. My services are mostly virtual, with some exceptions made for officiating rituals, etc. If you are looking for post-surgical (in-person) care, please email me (hello@thegenderdoula.com) and we can discuss possible options. 

I also offer professional training for service providers, and consulting for aspiring and practicing gender doulas. If you are interested in these services, contact me.

Intake Appointment

90 minutes — $150-$225

This appointment is generally required for all prospective Gender Doula clients. We will spend 90 minutes discussing your background and history, as well as your specific needs and goals. The point of this session is to create the foundation for our future work together, and to help me understand you as an individual, so I can craft my offerings to suit your needs. 

One-on-One sessions:

$100-$150/hr (virtual)

Working one-on-one with The Gender Doula will look different for each client. For some clients, this regular check in will include gender exploration, trouble-shooting difficult family or work situations, trying on different name or pronouns, guided meditations/breathing exercises, and more. These sessions will always be based on your individual needs and goals, and are often followed up with individualized recommendations and resources via email.

Locating Service Providers

$100-$150/hr

For many folks, knowing where to look and how to find trans-affirming providers can be a confusing and exhausting process. I will research to find trans-affirming providers for any service - medical, cosmetic (hair, makeup, electrolysis, etc), tailoring, support groups, mental health, etc. If needed, I will personally call the provider and ask questions as if I were a prospective client in order to screen for appropriate behavior. (Note: this requires two hours minimum if you do not already work with me)


 

Surgery Prep/Hormone Prep

$100/hr

If you are getting ready to start your medical transition, I can help you mentally and emotionally prepare for the journey. This includes answering all of your questions (although I know a lot about this topic, I will also always do my best to direct you to peer-reviewed sources when available, as well as reflect anecdotal evidence when appropriate), assistance in finding providers, navigating insurance issues, advice on nutrition and other physical health issues, and supporting you through the process. 

Rituals

Starting at $300

Rituals are extremely important for marking important shifts, changes, or moments in our lives. Naming a child, graduating from school, or having a baby shower are all rituals…practices that allow us to reflect on our journey, usually in the presence of our community. I can create a ritual for you to let go of a name or pronoun, adopt a new name or pronoun, to connect with a partner or with your community in a new way, etc. Although I have a few rituals that can be adapted to individuals, I would also love to work with you to create a bespoke ritual for your individual needs.

Packages Vary

Shopping while trans can be a very fraught experience. My goal is to help you find clothes that suit your personal style, to put together a wardrobe that suits your needs and that you can feel great in, and to give you skills that you can use in the future to find additional outfits (and hopefully, good deals!). While all packages will be virtual for now, I will start by getting a sense of your style preferences and your size. I will try to find you a variety of pieces that will fit and feel great, with a focus on being able to mix and match to create a variety of outfits. Your preferences here are paramount…even if you’re not sure what they are yet! We will work together to figure it out.
